ABOUT

Swiss Composer and pianist based in London, Karim Younis was born in Sierre (Switzerland) and grew up in Locarno.

 

As a composer with a wide range of styles, Karim Younis has written music for films, theatre, adverts, concerts and live performances, with his music performed in Switzerland, UK, Italy, France, Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Hungary.

 

Karim Younis completed his studies at the Royal College of Music London with his Master in Composition for Screen followed by BBC film composer Maurizio Malagnini and Enrica Sciandrone, furthermore with his Bachelor in Traditional and Contemporary Composition at the University of Arts Bern in Switzerland with Professor Xavier Dayer.

His most recent projects include: the feature-film “Kilo 64”, a documentary by Egyptian Director Amir El-Shenawy screened at the 40th Cairo International Film Festival; "Cactus Boy" an award winning short film by the British Director Chris Brake; “Fledgling” an award winning short animation by French-American Director Juliette Rogasik; “The Thin Layer” by the German director Hanna Schrage, a VR Film with spatial music.

CACTUS BOY SELECTED FOR THE BIFA AND SHORT SIGHTED CINEMA

Exciting news! ‘Cactus Boy’ has been selected
for the British Independent Film Award qualifying Short Sighted Cinema.

A big thanks to all all the people that helped me along the way in the making of the music, to the musicians of the soundtrack and to Master Chord Studio London!
